Borussia Dortmund’s Bundesliga title dream crumbles on final day with Mainz draw
“Borussia Dortmund knew a final-day win at home to Mainz would secure their first Bundesliga title for 11 years, but they crumbled with a 2-2 draw. Mainz scored twice inside the opening 24 minutes, Sebastien Haller missing a penalty between the goals, and a 96th-minute equaliser wasn’t enough to spark a late turnaround. Bayern Munich retained the title by beating FC Koln 2-1 at the death.”
