Report: Tottenham close to hiring Celtic’s Postecoglou as new head coach
Tottenham Hotspur are close to appointing Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou as their new head coach, according to The Athletic’s David Ornstein.
The deal is reportedly expected to be completed in the coming days.
Postecoglou completed a domestic treble with Celtic in Saturday’s 3-1 Scottish Cup final victory over Inverness Caledonian Thistle. The Australian tactician helped the Bhoys reclaim the Scottish Premiership title from Old Firm rivals Rangers last season in his first campaign at the helm.
“People around me have all worked hard to enjoy this moment, so that’s what I’m going to do,” Postecoglou said when asked about his future following Celtic’s Scottish Cup triumph. “I will enjoy it for as long as I can before people drag me away to talk about other things.”
Postecoglou, 57, won the Australian A-League
