Man City’s De Bruyne leaves UCL final with apparent leg injury
Manchester City suffered a major injury blow in the first half of the Champions League final after Kevin De Bruyne left Saturday’s game against Inter Milan due to an apparent leg issue.
The midfielder received treatment and tried to play on despite concerns from the Manchester City bench.
Manager Pep Guardiola waited a few more minutes before it was clear that the star couldn’t continue. Phil Foden replaced the 31-year-old in the 36th minute.
De Bruyne was arguably one of Manchester City’s best players this season, scoring 10 goals and providing 31 assists in all competitions.
The unlucky Belgian international was also forced to leave the 2021 Champions League final early due to injury. He was replaced in the second half as City lost 1-0 to Chelsea.
Manchester City and Inter Milan ended the first half tied 0-0 in Istanbul.
