Report: Liverpool agree to sign Caicedo for British record £110M fee

Liverpool reached an agreement with Brighton & Hove Albion to sign Moises Caicedo for a British record £110-million fee, sources told David Ornstein of The Athletic.

Brighton held an auction for their star midfielder that ended Thursday night, with Liverpool presenting the highest offer, according to Ornstein. Caicedo, 21, was heavily pursued by Chelsea all summer. The Blues were long considered the front-runners for his signature. But after multiple failed bids, their final offer was worth up to £100 million, Ornstein adds.

Personal terms are yet to be agreed between Liverpool and the Ecuadorian dynamo but should be a formality. Caicedo is expected to undergo a medical Friday before finalizing the record-breaking transfer to Anfield.
