Report: Man City close to signing Nunes below Wolves’ asking price
Manchester City have reportedly reached a verbal agreement to sign midfielder Matheus Nunes from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The transfer will reportedly cost £47.3 million with no add-ons, according to BBC Sport’s Simon Stone. Wolves rejected City’s opening offer last week and were apparently requesting a fee in excess of £60 million.
Nunes, 25, has been skipping training sessions in an effort to force through the move. Last season’s treble winners revived discussions with Wolves on Wednesday and are confident of completing a transfer ahead of Friday’s deadline.
Manchester City stepped up their hunt for a midfielder after Kevin De Bruyne suffered an injury that could rule him out for four months during their Premier League opener. They were previously linked with a move
