Report: Man United bid €45M for Onana; De Gea’s future still up in the air

Manchester United have submitted an opening offer worth up to €45 million for Inter Milan’s Andre Onana, according to The Athletic’s Laurie Whitwell and Mario Cortegana.
Inter would prefer a bid closer to €60 million for the goalkeeper, but there’s reportedly an expectation that the two clubs can compromise on a fee somewhere in the middle.
United’s approach comes amid continued uncertainty over David De Gea‘s future after his contract expired on June 30. A longer deal on a significantly smaller salary than his previous weekly wage of £375,000 was agreed until the club backed out, The Athletic’s Dan Sheldon and Guillermo Rai reported in June.
