Singapore Khalsa Association retain SFL 1 title
SKA players celebrate winning the SFL 1 title last Saturday at Yishun Stadium.
SINGAPORE, 17 AUGUST 2023 – Singapore Khalsa Association (SKA) have retained the Singapore Football League (SFL) 1 title that they won for the first time in 2022, completing the 2023 season with 36 points, eight clear of closest challengers Tiong Bahru FC.
With the triumph, SKA are back-to-back winners of the competition for the first time and also prevented Tiong Bahru from winning their third league title.
The SKA players were runaway leaders in the league very early on in the season. Having chalked up 11 wins and three draws, SKA were undefeated for the whole of the 2023 SFL 1 season. Rivals Tiong Bahru had a mountain to climb when they suffered the first of four losses in the season, going down by four goals to two to SKA. This handed the initiative to the defending champions as they went from strength to strength on their way to securing the league title.
