TikTok to show live World Cup match clips

• FIFA says its media partners can broadcast “parts of matches” on TikTok through the end of 2026. 
• FIFA and TikTok have not said how long those live clips will be. 
• FIFA says the 2026 World Cup runs from June 11 to July 19 across Canada, the United States and Mexico.

FIFA and TikTok have agreed a partnership that will let FIFA media partners broadcast “parts of matches” on the platform during the 2026 World Cup, with the deal running through the end of 2026. 

FIFA’s announcement does not state how much live action fans will be able to watch, with FIFA secretary general Mattias Grafstrom saying, “As football grows and evolves — uniting an increasing number of people — so should the way it is shared and promoted.”

FIFA framed the move as a way to widen access for fans, saying the collaboration is designed to bring fans “closer to the action.”  TikTok, in turn, pitched live sport as a driver of viewing habits and commercial returns, with its global head of content saying live sport on the platform can transform “fandom into measurable business results for our sports partners, with fans being 42 percent more likely to tune in to live matches after watching sports content on TikTok.” 

TikTok’s World Cup output will include filters, stickers and other gamification features, plus access for “a select group of global TikTok creators” at press conferences and training sessions, according to FIFA. 

The 2026 World Cup is scheduled for June 11 to July 19, with matches set across 16 host cities in Canada, the United States and Mexico.
