• Thomas Frank expects to remain Tottenham head coach for the north London derby against Arsenal despite fan calls for his dismissal.
• Spurs lost 2-1 at home to Newcastle, leaving them in sixteenth place with eleven league defeats this season.
• Injuries and suspensions continue to limit squad availability, including ten sidelined players and captain Cristian Romero suspended.

Tottenham head coach Thomas Frank has confirmed he expects to remain in charge for the north London derby against Arsenal following a 21 home defeat to Newcastle and calls from supporters for his dismissal.

Fans at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium chanted for Frank’s removal and repeatedly referenced former manager Mauricio Pochettino as Spurs recorded their eleventh league loss of the season.

Newcastle opened the scoring through Malick Thiaw. Archie Gray equalised just before half-time, but Jacob Ramsey restored the visitors’ lead in the sixty-eighth minute. Tottenham remained in sixteenth place, five points above the relegation zone, and were booed at both half-time and full-time.

Tottenham will have a twelve-day break before facing Arsenal, following their early exit from the FA Cup.

When asked about his future, Frank said, “Yeah, I’m convinced I will be. I understand the question. It is easy to focus on the head coach, but performance involves ownership, directors, staff and players. Everyone has a role, and we need to work on improving collectively.”

The squad faces significant selection challenges. Ten players are sidelined with injuries, while captain Cristian Romero serves a four-match suspension after receiving a second red card last weekend. Wilson Odobert also left the match with a knee injury, further limiting available options.

Frank highlighted the impact of these absences on Tottenham’s results. “I’m 1000 percent sure I am the right man to lead Tottenham. We are facing eleven or twelve injuries, which was unexpected. To progress, the club needs strong resilience from all involved, including board members, staff, players and supporters. Everyone must remain focused and work together.”

Tottenham have won two of their last seventeen league matches, collecting twelve points in that period. Frank stressed that maintaining consistency and composure is critical to overcoming the current challenges.
