Liam Rosenior - Liam Rosenior Says Enzo Fernández Happy at Chelsea After Exit Comments
  • Enzo Fernández reassured Liam Rosenior he is happy at Chelsea F.C. despite recent comments.
  • Fernández had cast doubt on his future following defeat to Paris Saint-Germain F.C..
  • Rosenior also addressed injuries and a team leak investigation at the club.

Liam Rosenior said Enzo Fernández has made it clear he remains committed to Chelsea after raising uncertainty about his future earlier this week.

The Argentina international suggested he was unsure about staying at Stamford Bridge beyond this season following Chelsea’s 3-0 Champions League defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.

However, Rosenior revealed he held talks with the midfielder and has no concerns over his commitment.

“I had a great conversation with Enzo at length this morning at the training ground,” Rosenior said.

“I would say he made it really clear to me how happy he is here, how much he wants to win for the team, and how passionate he is for this football club.”

Rosenior added that Fernández felt his earlier remarks had been misinterpreted.

“He said also the translation and emotion got misconstrued. He is completely committed to this football club,” he said.

Fernández, who joined Chelsea for a then-British record fee in 2023, still has five years remaining on his contract.

Away from the midfielder’s situation, Rosenior confirmed the club has identified the source of a leak involving team selections ahead of their matches against Paris Saint-Germain.

“We know who it was,” Rosenior said. “It’s not come from any place of malicious intent. We have dealt with the situation.”

Rosenior also provided updates on several injured players following the European defeat.

Trevoh Chalobah is expected to be sidelined for around six weeks with an ankle injury, while captain Reece James will miss the upcoming match against Everton F.C. due to a minor hamstring issue.

Goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen is set to undergo surgery on a groin injury.

Rosenior also backed Mamadou Sarr after his error contributed to an early goal against PSG.

“You have to go through negative experiences sometimes to improve,” Rosenior said. “He is a massive part of our plans.”

Chelsea now turn their focus back to domestic competition as they aim to finish the season strongly.
