Tottenham confirm De Zerbi coaching staff appointments
- Tottenham Hotspur confirm additions to Roberto De Zerbi coaching staff
- Alessandro Nesta not included despite speculation
- New manager begins work with team positioned near relegation zone
Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed the first additions to the coaching staff of Roberto De Zerbi following his appointment as head coach.
The club announced that Marcattilio Marcattilii has joined as fitness coach, while Marcello Quinto has been appointed as senior professional development phase coach.
Speculation had linked Alessandro Nesta with a role in De Zerbi’s staff, though he has not been included. Nesta most recently managed AC Monza and has previous coaching experience across Italian and United States clubs.
Marcattilii has an established working relationship with De Zerbi, dating back to their time at Foggia Calcio. Quinto also reunites with the head coach after previous roles together at Brighton & Hove Albion and Olympique de Marseille.
Tottenham confirmed that Bruno Saltor will remain as assistant coach, alongside Andreas Georgson, Cameron Campbell and Fabian Otte. Dean Brill and Stuart Lewis will continue their roles supporting the first team.
De Zerbi has signed a five year contract and becomes the third manager to take charge of Tottenham this season, following the departures of Thomas Frank and Igor Tudor.
Tottenham are currently 17th in the Premier League table, one point above the relegation zone, with De Zerbi tasked with securing the club’s top flight status.
