Amad backs Michael Carrick for permanent Manchester United role
- Amad Diallo supports Michael Carrick as long term head coach
- Manchester United have lost once in 10 matches under Carrick
- Decision on permanent appointment expected at end of season
Amad Diallo has said that Michael Carrick is the right candidate to take the Manchester United head coach position on a permanent basis.
Carrick was appointed in January on an interim basis until the end of the season and has overseen a strong run of results, with only one defeat in 10 matches. The improvement has moved United into contention for Champions League qualification.
Speaking during a training camp in Dublin, Amad said the players value Carrick’s experience and connection to the club. He added that the squad believe the manager understands the demands of the role and has brought clarity to the team’s objectives.
Manchester United are currently third in the Premier League table and are preparing for a fixture against Leeds United. A positive result would strengthen their position in the race for a return to European competition.
A final decision on the permanent head coach is expected at the end of the season, with Omar Berrada and Jason Wilcox responsible for the appointment process.
Amad said the squad remain focused on their performances while expressing satisfaction with Carrick’s work since taking charge, highlighting his emphasis on winning matches and securing Champions League qualification.
