Report: Man United pull out of Kane race due to high cost
Manchester United have pulled out of the Harry Kane sweepstakes.
The Red Devils ended their pursuit due to the high cost it’d require to sign the striker from Tottenham Hotspur, according to Jacob Steinberg and Jamie Jackson of The Guardian.
Despite Kane being on Erik ten Hag’s list of summer targets, the Dutch manager has reportedly accepted that the price to lure him to Old Trafford has become unrealistic, especially for a player who turns 30 next month.
Tottenham are expected to demand more than £100 million for Kane, who registered his second 30-goal season in the Premier League last term.
Kane has one year left on his contract, but Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is eager to sign him to a new deal to avoid losing him for nothing next summer, Steinberg and Jackson add.
