Report: Southampton’s Lavia chooses Chelsea over Liverpool
Chelsea and Liverpool’s off-pitch battles continue after Romeo Lavia chose to join the London club Monday, according to The Athletic’s David Ornstein.
The Reds agreed to a deal worth £60 million for the Southampton midfielder, The Guardian’s Jacob Steinberg reports, but Chelsea are now set to strike an agreement for a similar amount. A £50-million sum plus add-ons should be enough for the Blues to get the move over the line, Ornstein adds.
Liverpool also lost out to Chelsea in their pursuit of Brighton & Hove Albion’s Moises Caicedo.
