Benjamin Sesko said his late equaliser against West Ham demonstrated Manchester United’s commitment to the fight for Champions League qualification after rescuing a 1-1 draw at the London Stadium.

Sesko entered the match in the sixty-ninth minute with United trailing to Tomás Soucek’s goal shortly after half-time. West Ham defended deep through the closing stages, limiting space and forcing United to rely on patience and persistence.

With defeat looming in the sixth minute of added time, Bryan Mbeumo delivered a cross from the right and Sesko flicked a controlled volley high into the net to secure a point. The goal preserved United’s unbeaten start under interim head coach Michael Carrick and maintained their position in fourth place.

Sesko said the match demanded focus and collective effort. “It was one of those games that was never going to be easy. They were very compact and focused on counter-attacks. Everyone wanted to win and fought for each other. We did not get the result we wanted, but the draw matters.”
