- FC Bayern Munich defeated Atalanta B.C. 4-1 to complete a 10-2 aggregate victory.
- Bayern will face Real Madrid C.F. in the quarterfinals.
Harry Kane reached a historic milestone as Bayern Munich eased into the Champions League quarterfinals with a dominant win over Atalanta.
The England captain scored twice in a 4-1 second-leg victory at the Allianz Arena, taking his tally to 50 goals in the competition and becoming the first English player to reach the mark.
Kane opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the first half before adding a second after the break to cap another influential performance.
The result secured a 10-2 aggregate triumph for Bayern, underlining their dominance across both legs of the round-of-16 tie.
Since joining Bayern from Tottenham Hotspur F.C. in 2023, Kane has scored 28 Champions League goals in 34 appearances and has found the net in his last four round-of-16 matches for the club.
Bayern, managed by Vincent Kompany, will now face Real Madrid in the quarterfinals, with the first leg scheduled at the Santiago Bernabéu.
The German side will be looking to end a difficult run against Madrid, having failed to win any of their last nine meetings.
There was also a notable milestone for Bayern defender Filip Pavic, who became the club’s youngest-ever Champions League player.
Pavic, aged 16 years and 58 days, came on as a substitute in the second half and became one of the youngest players in the competition’s history.
Only Max Dowman and Youssoufa Moukoko have made earlier appearances in the Champions League, highlighting the significance of Pavic’s debut.
Bayern now turn their focus to their quarterfinal clash as they continue their pursuit of European success.
