Dejan Kulusevski has sought to ease concerns over his injury status, insisting his knee is “great” following a minor surgical procedure.

The 25-year-old Tottenham Hotspur forward has been sidelined since May after a challenge with Marc Guéhi during a Premier League clash with Crystal Palace resulted in a serious right patella injury, necessitating surgery.

Images of Kulusevski at Sweden’s national team camp this week sparked concern as he appeared to walk with a slight limp. However, the forward clarified the situation via an Instagram story, writing: “Just to clarify things. I’m limping because I had a small intervention in the knee two weeks ago. Went in and took out what was not supposed to be there. Knee is great now. Thanks for all the support.”

Kulusevski has been a key creative force for Spurs, contributing 25 goals and 30 assists across 146 appearances. The club has struggled for creativity in his absence, and speculation over his return has persisted.

Former Tottenham boss Thomas Frank admitted last month he was unsure if Kulusevski would feature again this season. Current interim head coach Igor Tudor also stated on Friday that no timeline for the Sweden international’s comeback has been established.

Sweden manager Graham Potter added: “Dejan is making progress, but not as quickly as we would have liked,” ahead of Thursday’s World Cup playoff against Ukraine.

For now, fans can take comfort in Kulusevski’s reassurance that the knee issue is minor and under control, though a full return to the pitch remains pending.
