The substitute bundled home in the 94th minute, sparking wild celebrations among the home supporters, only for VAR official Darren England to advise referee Chris Kavanagh to review the build-up on the pitchside monitor. After a lengthy check, the goal was ruled out for a foul in the attacking phase, allowing Arsenal to escape with a victory that could prove season-defining.

Arteta, who has often voiced frustration with officiating decisions this season, surprisingly applauded the refereeing team afterward for handling such a high-pressure moment with conviction.
