Tottenham Hotspur are on track to name Brentford boss Thomas Frank as their next head coach, with the move likely to be finalised within days.

Ongoing talks between the two London clubs have advanced without issue, with growing belief from those involved that Frank’s arrival could be confirmed within 48 hours.

Both club chairman Daniel Levy and recently appointed chief executive Vinai Venkatesham are jointly overseeing the negotiations, which have been described as constructive.

Frank, 51, is under contract at Brentford and the West London side are due compensation. Sources suggest Spurs will need to pay around £10 million to secure his release, though the final figure hinges on how many staff members accompany him.

Frank initially joined Brentford in 2016 and was elevated to head coach in 2018. He guided the club to Premier League promotion via the 2021 Championship play-offs and has since kept them steady in the top flight on limited resources. Last season, his side finished 10th, seven spots and 18 points above Spurs, who narrowly avoided relegation by finishing 17th.

His potential appointment comes just over two weeks after Ange Postecoglou was dismissed. The Australian had ended the club’s 17-year trophy drought by winning the Europa League but was sacked 16 days later.
