• Liverpool manager backed by club hierarchy despite three straight defeats
• Champions League hopes in doubt after loss to Paris Saint-Germain
• Slot highlights continued support from fans during difficult period

Arne Slot says he retains the full backing of Liverpool’s leadership as pressure builds following a run of poor results.

Defeats to Manchester City in the FA Cup and Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League have left Liverpool’s season at a delicate point, while a league loss to Brighton & Hove Albion has dropped them to fifth in the table.

The defending champions are now focused on securing a return to the Champions League, with scrutiny increasing around Slot’s position less than a year after delivering the Premier League title.

“I feel a lot of support,” Slot said ahead of the weekend fixture. “Not only from the owners but also from Richard Hughes and Michael Edwards. That support has been there consistently.”

Slot also pointed to the response from supporters, particularly during the recent defeat in Paris, where travelling fans continued to back the team despite a difficult performance.

“We were outplayed, but the fans were still singing and clapping,” he said. “That support has been constant in good moments and difficult ones.”

The comments come ahead of planned protests over ticket price increases at Anfield, adding another layer of tension around the club’s current situation. Slot acknowledged the importance of fan backing, referencing previous matches where the atmosphere played a decisive role.

“Anfield has always shown how important the fans are,” he said. “They help the team through moments like that and that has not changed.”

Attention has also turned to changes within the squad, with Andy Robertson confirming he will leave the club at the end of the season after nine years.

Slot paid tribute to the left-back’s contribution, both on and off the pitch.

“He has had many great seasons here and people also know him as a person,” Slot said. “He has won everything with the club and has always shown his connection to it.”

Robertson’s reduced role this season has been part of a broader shift within the squad, with Liverpool now balancing immediate results and longer-term transition.

For Slot, the priority remains steadying performances over the final weeks, with both results and context shaping how his first full season at Anfield will be judged.
