  • Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain expect repeat of nine-goal thriller
  • Luis Enrique and Vincent Kompany reject defensive approach
  • Second leg in Germany to decide place in final after record-breaking first meeting

Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain are preparing for another high-intensity encounter as they meet in the second leg of their Champions League semifinal.

The French side hold a 5-4 advantage from last week’s first leg in Paris, the highest-scoring semifinal match in the competition’s history. Despite the stakes, neither side has suggested a shift toward a more cautious style.

PSG midfielder Warren Zaïre-Emery described the first leg as a spectacle and expects more of the same.

“We play football for these kinds of matches,” he said. “The intensity, the commitment, the goals, it was exceptional. We expect the same again and even more.”

With Achraf Hakimi sidelined through injury, Zaïre-Emery is set to fill in at right-back as PSG aim to protect their slim advantage.

Head coach Luis Enrique insisted his side will not play for a draw, even though avoiding defeat would be enough to reach the final.

“We try to win every match,” Enrique said. “Against Bayern, we don’t need to change anything. It’s about being faithful to who we are as a team.”

Bayern boss Vincent Kompany echoed that sentiment, emphasizing continuity in approach despite the chaotic nature of the first leg.

“If I said we want to do something completely different, that wouldn’t be right,” Kompany said. “We’re playing at home and want to win. The priority is winning the game.”

Bayern have received a boost with Raphaël Guerreiro and Lennart Karl returning to training, though Serge Gnabry remains unavailable.

With both teams committed to attacking football and a place in the final on the line, the stage is set for another potentially classic encounter in Germany.
