Conor Gallagher has credited the man-management of Roberto De Zerbi for helping Tottenham Hotspur revive their Premier League survival bid.
Spurs moved out of the bottom three with a 2-1 win over Aston Villa, following an earlier victory against Wolverhampton Wanderers. The turnaround has lifted them a point clear of West Ham United ahead of a crucial clash with Leeds United.
Gallagher, who scored his first goal for Spurs since arriving from Atlético Madrid in January, said De Zerbi’s personal approach has been central to the team’s improvement.
“The gaffer has been brilliant with us. He has brought the team together,” Gallagher said. “He has really worked on players individually with one-to-one meetings, trying to get that belief and confidence back.”
The 26-year-old added that the Italian coach’s encouragement has helped him rediscover his best form.
“He reminded me of the player I was at my best and wants me to get back to that level,” Gallagher explained. “He has done that with a lot of the lads.”
Despite the recent upturn, Gallagher stressed that Spurs remain focused on the task ahead as they look to secure their top-flight status.
“There is a lot of work to do,” he said. “We are fully focused on the next game and hopefully we can deliver another performance and another win.”
With momentum building under De Zerbi, Tottenham head into the final stretch of the season with renewed belief in their fight for survival.
