Everton are making progress in securing Villarreal forward Thierno Barry, as the Toffees look to reshape their attack following key departures.

The 22-year-old striker has a £34.5 million release clause and is reportedly eager for the move to Goodison Park.

Barry found the net 11 times and contributed four assists over 38 appearances in all competitions last season. Villarreal finished fifth in La Liga, earning a Champions League spot for the upcoming campaign.

His arrival would help fill the void left by Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who departed Everton after his contract ended. Armando Broja has also returned to Chelsea following his loan spell, leaving Everton short up front.

Originally from Lyon, Barry began his journey at Sochaux in France before moving to Belgian second-division outfit Beveren at age 19. He later made the switch to Swiss side Basel and then joined Villarreal in August 2024 for an estimated £13 million.

Everton are now working to finalise terms that would bring Barry to Merseyside.
