Pep Guardiola believes Manchester City’s experience of delivering under pressure could give them the edge over Arsenal in the title race.

Arsenal missed the chance to extend their lead after a 2-1 defeat to AFC Bournemouth, leaving the door open for City to close the gap with a win over Chelsea.

Guardiola has been here before. Last season, his side won nine consecutive games to overhaul Arsenal and secure the title. That memory, and the standards it required, still shapes how he views the run-in.

“You have to win every single game,” Guardiola said. “We have done it in the past, so we know what it takes.”

There is a familiarity to City’s position. Not chasing from distance, but close enough to apply pressure. Close enough that every Arsenal result now carries weight.

A meeting between the two sides at the Etihad later this month looms large. It is the kind of fixture that tends to define seasons, not just influence them.

While Arsenal have stumbled, losing three of their last four in all competitions, City appear to be building momentum at the right time. Recent performances against Arsenal in the Carabao Cup final and Liverpool in the FA Cup have been sharp, controlled, and convincing.

Guardiola admitted his team have not been consistent enough throughout the campaign, but the focus now is on what comes next rather than what has gone before.

“To win the title, you have to do it every three days,” he said. “We were not always at that level this season, but we are still there.”

City remain in contention on multiple fronts, with an FA Cup semifinal ahead as well as the league run-in.

For Guardiola, the message is simple, even if the execution is anything but. Stay close, keep winning, and apply pressure.

Arsenal have set the pace for most of the season. Now, they are being asked a different question.

City, as ever, look ready to answer it.
