Harry Kane said Paris Saint-Germain deserve to be considered favourites for next month’s Champions League final against Arsenal following Bayern Munich’s semifinal exit.

PSG advanced to the final in Budapest after edging Bayern 6-5 on aggregate, despite Kane scoring late in Wednesday’s 1-1 second-leg draw at the Allianz Arena.

The England captain admitted the defeat was difficult to process and said he may not even watch the final after Bayern’s European hopes were ended.

“I don’t know if I’ll watch it,” Kane said. “Right now I’m just disappointed. Over the two legs we had enough moments to have a different outcome, but it didn’t go our way.”

Kane also expressed frustration with several refereeing decisions during the semifinal, including Bayern’s unsuccessful appeals for a handball penalty and a perceived missed second yellow card for a PSG player.

“Everyone who watched the game will have the same opinion,” he said. “How you give the handball last week and don’t give it this week is crazy.”

Despite his disappointment, Kane acknowledged PSG’s status as defending champions gives them a psychological edge heading into the final.

“PSG probably have the right to be slight favourites,” he said. “But overall, it’s two top teams going at it and it should be an even match.”

The former Tottenham Hotspur striker added that both finalists possess different strengths and styles, making the showdown difficult to predict.

“It’s the beauty of football,” Kane said. “Anything can get you over the line.”

PSG are aiming to become only the second club in the modern Champions League era to successfully defend the title, while Arsenal are chasing their first-ever European crown.
