Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that head coach Igor Tudor has left the club by mutual consent after just 43 days in charge.

Tudor, who replaced Thomas Frank on a short term basis, won only one of his seven matches as Spurs slipped to 17th in the Premier League, just one point above the relegation zone. His only victory came against Atlético Madrid, though the team were still eliminated from the UEFA Champions League on aggregate.

His final match was a 3-0 home defeat to Nottingham Forest. Shortly after that result, Tudor learned of the death of his father, with the club allowing him time to deal with the bereavement before both parties agreed to part ways.

In a statement, Tottenham thanked Tudor and his staff for their work during a difficult period and expressed support for him and his family.

Assistant coach Bruno Saltor will oversee training in the short term, with many first team players currently away on international duty. Spurs are aiming to appoint a new head coach in time for preparations ahead of their next league fixture against Sunderland.

The club are assessing a number of candidates, including Roberto De Zerbi and Mauricio Pochettino, while other names linked include Sean Dyche and Adi Hütter.

Tottenham must now act quickly to stabilise their season, with the priority firmly on securing their Premier League status.
