World Cup Final resale tickets listed for nearly $2.3 million each
- Four seats for the 2026 World Cup final have appeared on FIFA’s resale platform at close to $2.3 million per ticket
- Prices vary dramatically across listings, with some seats available for under $11,000 through official sales channels
- FIFA does not set resale prices but collects fees from both buyers and sellers
FIFA’s resale marketplace has drawn attention after four tickets for the 2026 World Cup final were listed at just under $2.3 million each.
The seats, located behind the goal in the lower tier at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, carry an asking price of $2,299,998.85 per ticket. They are among the most expensive listings currently visible on the official resale platform.
While FIFA operates the marketplace, it does not control the prices set by sellers. However, the governing body takes a 15% fee from both the buyer and the seller for each transaction completed through the platform.
Other listings show a wide range in pricing. An aisle seat in another lower-tier section has been listed at $207,000, while some upper-tier tickets have appeared for $138,000. In contrast, the lowest-priced seats for the final on the resale platform were just under $11,000 for positions high in the stadium.
The disparity highlights the volatile nature of the secondary ticket market, particularly for high-demand events like the World Cup final.
FIFA has also continued to release tickets through its primary sales channels. Newly available seats for the final have been priced at $10,990, significantly lower than many resale listings.
Prices for other matches in the tournament remain high but comparatively more accessible. Semifinal tickets have been listed at over $11,000 in some cases, while group-stage matches involving the United States have ranged from around $1,900 to more than $4,000 depending on seating category.
No official comment was immediately provided by FIFA regarding the resale listings.
The 2026 World Cup final is scheduled for July 19 and is expected to be one of the most in-demand sporting events globally, contributing to the extreme pricing seen on the resale market.
