  • Arne Slot urges Liverpool to replicate performance shown against Galatasaray
  • Fixture schedule includes FA Cup tie with Manchester City and Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain
  • Alexander Isak set to return to training after injury absence

Arne Slot has called on Liverpool to reproduce the level of performance delivered against Galatasaray as they prepare for a decisive run of fixtures.

Liverpool face Manchester City in an FA Cup quarter final before a Champions League meeting with Paris Saint-Germain. The sequence presents a significant test across domestic and European competition.

Slot pointed to the second leg against Galatasaray at Anfield as a reference point. Liverpool overturned a first-leg deficit to secure a 4-0 win, progressing 4-1 on aggregate with a performance he described as one of the team’s strongest.

That result was followed by a 2-1 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion, a match affected by absences and physical demands. Slot noted that key players were unavailable and that the turnaround between fixtures placed strain on the squad.

Alisson Becker and Mohamed Salah were both missing, while Hugo Ekitike was forced off early in the match. Slot said several players showed signs of fatigue in the second half after a short recovery period between games.

He stated that the level shown against Galatasaray represents the standard required against Manchester City, highlighting the quality of their squad and coaching structure. Slot added that the upcoming match offers a strong competitive test.

Liverpool have received a positive update with Alexander Isak expected to return to training. The forward has been absent since December after sustaining an ankle injury that included a fractured fibula.
