Chelsea Target Mohammed Kudus in £85m Pursuit

West Ham have fielded several enquiries for Ghana midfielder Mohammed Kudus, with Chelsea understood to be one of the clubs in initial contact.
According to BBC Sport, the Blues expressed early interest in Kudus, who has a release clause set at £85 million. Talks have touched on the possibility of a Chelsea player moving to East London as part of any potential deal. Goalkeeper Robert Sanchez is one of the names that have been brought up during informal discussions.
Other Premier League clubs and teams abroad are also monitoring the 23-year-old, whose contract at West Ham runs until 2027. Kudus is believed to be open to departing the club, especially if it means a place in next season’s Champions League.
The release fee for clubs based in Saudi Arabia is reported to be higher—£120 million—but whether West Ham would negotiate below the £85m mark for European sides remains unresolved.
The Hammers could sell a high-profile player this summer, aiming to bolster their squad as manager Graham Potter prepares for his first complete campaign.
Arsenal maintain a long-standing interest in Kudus and had previously identified him as a target in the summer of 2023, before West Ham secured his signature.
Since arriving in east London, Kudus has made 80 appearances and scored 19 goals.
