• Newcastle United are planning a significant pay rise for Lewis Hall to secure his long-term future.
• Manchester United are among the clubs reportedly monitoring the defender ahead of the summer window.
• Hall has been one of Newcastle’s standout performers this season and is pushing for an England role.

Newcastle United F.C. are reportedly preparing to offer defender Lewis Hall an improved contract as the club look to fend off potential interest from rivals including Manchester United F.C..

Hall is believed to currently earn around £40,000 per week at Newcastle. Club officials are considering a substantial increase to place the left-back among the higher earners at St James’ Park.

According to reports, Newcastle want to reward the 20-year-old’s performances and underline his importance to the team after a strong season in which he has emerged as one of the club’s most consistent players.

Hall has also strengthened his case to compete for the left-back position with the England national football team ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

His current wages are said to trail those of squad players such as Joe Willock and Emil Krafth, prompting Newcastle to consider improved terms that reflect his growing role within the squad.

Hall delivered another notable performance in midweek, keeping Lamine Yamal quiet during Newcastle’s European clash. The Magpies will travel to the Camp Nou next week for the return leg.

Despite the strong display, Hall said he felt Newcastle deserved more from the match.

“If we’re taking the game to them at 1-0 for the second leg, I think we’re in a really good position,” Hall said.

“I thought we were outstanding today and the last goal doesn’t reflect our performance.”

Hall praised his team’s effort throughout the match and said the squad could take confidence from their display.

“We can be really proud of the effort we put in today,” he said. “They’re obviously a top side and we knew the game was going to be difficult.

“Whenever we play here we want to start sharp and we did that well today. Our energy levels and fitness levels carried on throughout the whole 90 minutes.

“I think we deserved more from the game.”
