• Benjamin Sesko scored a stoppage-time equaliser to earn Manchester United a 11 draw at West Ham.
• The result preserved United’s fourth-place position and extended their unbeaten run under Michael Carrick.
• Sesko said the performance reflected belief within the squad in securing Champions League qualification.

Benjamin Sesko said his late equaliser against West Ham demonstrated Manchester United’s commitment to the fight for Champions League qualification after rescuing a 1-1 draw at the London Stadium.

Sesko entered the match in the sixty-ninth minute with United trailing to Tomás Soucek’s goal shortly after half-time. West Ham defended deep through the closing stages, limiting space and forcing United to rely on patience and persistence.

With defeat looming in the sixth minute of added time, Bryan Mbeumo delivered a cross from the right and Sesko flicked a controlled volley high into the net to secure a point. The goal preserved United’s unbeaten start under interim head coach Michael Carrick and maintained their position in fourth place.

Sesko said the match demanded focus and collective effort. “It was one of those games that was never going to be easy. They were very compact and focused on counter-attacks. Everyone wanted to win and fought for each other. We did not get the result we wanted, but the draw matters.”

The Slovenia international said the equaliser underlined his role within the squad. “It felt good to help the team secure a point. I know I can contribute in different moments, and that matters to me. I want more moments like this.”

United’s recent revival has lifted confidence following a difficult spell under former head coach Ruben Amorim. Four successive victories had preceded the trip to east London, and the late recovery preserved momentum ahead of upcoming fixtures.

“We believe in each other,” Sesko said. “We are doing everything to win matches and secure a Champions League place. We believe we have the quality to achieve it, and we will keep fighting for that objective.”

United now turn attention to their next league match, aiming to convert performances into victories as they continue their push for a top-four finish.
